Our primary role is to: build relationships on trust and respect; assist all students, individually or in groups, with developing academic, career, and personal/social skills, goals, and plans; and monitor student academic performance, behavior, and attendance, and assist with appropriate interventions.
Important: CMS counselors are available for non-urgent situations only. If this is an urgent situation, call the Macomb County Crisis Line at 586-307-9100 or the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255.
Making Connections:
Below are some tips from educators on ways parents can communicate with teachers
(from partnershipschools.com)
- Email the teacher using the staff directory on the school's website.
- Volunteer in class when the opportunity arises (field trips, etc.).
- Don’t wait until there is a problem to contact the teacher.
- Create a good learning environment for your child at home.
